SIP Trunk Callforwarding / Fallback

0 CallForwarding.JPG
Standard forwarding

Standard forwarding is usually used by end customers who have configured a device directly on a SIP line and want to pass it on to a destination accordingly. You can easily and conveniently activate standard forwarding on your number in your customer account at any time. Forwarding, for example to a cell phone, incurs call costs and is charged at the normal peoplefone tariffs every minute. Make sure you have enough credits in your account.

Fallback forwarding

Fallback forwarding is generally used when a telephone system with several numbers and blocks is configured on the trunk. You now have the option of configuring fallback forwarding, which means that you can forward individual numbers from a block. But it is also possible to forward blocks of 10 numbers.

A maximum 100 redirects can be defined. peoplefone recommends setting up fallback forwarding according to a concept and keeping the structure as simple and transparent as possible. It simplifies troubleshooting in the event of a problem.

  • Incoming number = determines the numbers to be forwarded
  • Target number = defines where the call should be forwarded
  • Exact number = a full or exact number is required

Login → Customer Account → Additional Offers → Forwarding → Add a Rule → Forward all numbers to a target number

  • In this example, an immediate forwarding of all numbers that are on the SIP trunk is forwarded to the destination number

  • With this added rule, all numbers on the SIP trunk are forwarded to the target numbers, provided none (exceptions) are added

Forward a block of 10

Login → Customer Account → Additional Offers → Forwarding

  • If you work with a prefix, all numbers after the last (in this example 2) are forwarded to the defined target number.

  • As you can now see in the overview, an exception was added with a prefix and marked with a (*). All numbers are forwarded to the mobile (079 123 45 67), with the exception of (044 552 XX 20 – 044 552 XX 29), which is forwarded to the landline numbers 044 123 45 67
5 Fallback Beispiel Exception 10erBlock.jpg
  • In this example we want to show that the rule would «not work», since the exception / exception with (*) would forward the entire block of 10 to 044 123 45 67
  • This rule is a misconfiguration
5 Fallback Beispiel Exception Fehler.jpg
  • The rule marked here would work and be forwarded to the mobile number 076 123 45 67
