Migration peoplefone Proxy Servers

General Informations

By January 2019, peoplefone will be launching new versions of the proxy servers.

The new servers are sips.peoplefone.ch for the peoplefone TRUNK and pbxs.peoplefone.ch for peoplefone HOSTED. We recommend that you test the new infrastructure already now to prevent any disruptions.

Migration

The system will detect a login on the new proxy server sips.peoplefone.ch and pbxs.peoplefone.ch and migrate the SIP line within five minutes. 

Should a device still be orange after several minutes:

  • Please check if the device is registered for the new proxy

Then the device will be green after several minutes:

  • Incoming and outgoing calls are possible

Special Cases

A SIP line with several devices

If you have multiple devices connected to a SIP line, you must ensure that all devices communicate through the same proxy.

A provisioned phone with multiple identities.

If you have multiple identities stored on your device, then you must use the same proxy on all SIP lines. Peoplefone recommends that you run a provisioned device with only one identity; exceptions are treated as special cases. 

Possible scenarios you might encounter

peoplefone SIP TRUNK

 You have connected a telephone system to a peoplefone SIP TRUNK
  • If you want to test the new infrastructure, then enter the new proxy on your telephone system. Manual configuration is required.
You have connected a telephone to a SIP line:
  • If you want to test the new infrastructure, then enter the new proxy on your device Manual configuration required
If you have an app connected to a SIP line:
  • The new peoplefone app is already registering on to the new proxy and will automatically complete the migration within five minutes No action necessary
You have connected a telephone and the new peoplefone app on a SIP line:

156/5000 If you have multiple devices configured on a SIP line, make sure all devices communicate through the same proxy (new proxy). Manual configuration is required.

peoplefone HOSTED

peoplefone HOSTED users with a provisioned phone and identity:
  • Nothing has to be done, the migration is done automatically. No action necessary.
peoplefone HOSTED users with a provisioned phone and multiple identities:
  • The migration must be done manually for each user, resp. SIP line .Manual configuration, switching from (peoplefone) is necessary.

Gigaset

peoplefone HOSTED with a Gigaset device:
  • The proxy must be entered manually on the Gigaset terminal. Manual configuration is required.
peoplefone SIP TRUNK with a Gigaset device:
  • The proxy must be entered manually on the Gigaset telephone. Manual configuration is required.

peoplefone Cisco Box SPA122

peoplefone Cisco SPA122 provisioned and with a single assigned identity:

Nothing has to be done, the migration is executed automatically. No action is necessary.

peoplefone Cisco SPA122 provisioned and with two identical identities:
  • Nothing has to be done, the migration is executed automatically. No action is necessary.
peoplefone Cisco SPA122 provisioned with two different identities (Phone1, Phone2):
  • The proxy must be adapted for both identities SIP lines. Manual configuration from (peoplefone) is necessary.
